Scope of Work
- Repair of identified defects for Improper construction joints, cracks, honeycombs.
- Strengthening (thickening) of the spans for lack of reinforcement and poor qualty concrete.
The Chambal stay cable bridge construction was started in 2006. The bridge length is 1100 m with 350 m of main span and 2 pylons of 80 m height. In 2008, Freyssinet was awarded the contract for design, installation and execution of Stay Cable, Post Tensioning and Form Traveller work.
Freyssinet's scope also included the strengthening of the back spans using dry shotcreting technique and hydrodemolition for surface preparation.
